More About No More Room in Hell
No More Room in Hell by NMRiH Dev Team is a super cool blend of Horror-Survival, Action-Adventure, First Person Shooting (FPS) and Multiplayer Co-Op elements. The game is basically inspired by George Romeo’s Of the Dead series and is set in an era of Destruction and the end of the world because of a deadly virus outbreak. Been playing this game since the steam release. Well, I actually played the first beta release but it had some sort of lag hit detection problem that made the melee weapons basically useless at the time so I didn't play it for long.
Anyway, I've gotten a reasonable hang of the movement and melee mechanics but I haven't used all of the weapons really. I've found the game is so stingy with ammo that there isn't much time to practice with the guns much to get a feel for how they work. At first I was grabbing firearms like everyone else does, emptying the magazine early on and then being largely helpless as I struggled to find more ammo. Then I moved on to conserving ammo and keeping a melee. Now I try to find a good melee and pretty much just use whatever firearm I have only when totally cornered or faced with a lot of runners.
Melee weapons: I haven't found a very good guide on these, just one listing their weights.
Is the fire axe the best? I've been using it as my go to because it seems kill easily in a single strike and if I'm not combining it with sprinting I can keep it up without running out of stamina.
I gather the machete used to be considered the best since it did easy one head shot kills and could be used with a flashlight but has been nerfed. I find it and the other one-handers unreliable for that reason. The other two handers like the shovel and sledge don't seem like as good a killers and the sledge at least feels slower.
I haven't used the chainsaw although it seems like a kind of overpowered killing machine from watching other players use it. Perhaps it has serious weight concerns I'm not aware of to balance it.
Firearms: Like I said, I feel like there isn't enough ammo around to get a lot of practice on these. Ammo in the game is confusing. Using the held R to get a picture of the box helps but I still don't know all the ammo types by sight. I find that the 22 pistol and 9mm requiring two headshots to kill is kind of frustrating, but at least their magazine is deep enough for panic shooting even if that isn't generally a good idea. The rifle with the bayonet seems cool but its hard to tell if its ready to stab again and the bayonet has a crazy cool down. Plus its ammo seems extra rare. Not a fan of the revolver, fires to slow and 6 shots isn't great. The M16 and MP5 seem like aright backup weapons to get out of jams with the M16 actually being a good range weapon too. The shotguns is common and its ammo seems common, its a good panic weapon and hole puncher in the 6 round variety. Obvious its useless at a distance though. I used a rifle that took .308 rounds yesterday and it was handy for cleaning out threats in an area before I sprinted through the slowbies.
Anyone have any tips or things I'm missing about some weapons? Like I said I haven't gotten to use many of them much.

No More Room In Hell Weapon Item Test Map
- There are 3 types of zombies in the game: walkers, runners, and child zombies. Taking out the runners should be your first priority as they are the highest risk of getting you infected. Child zombies are not as frequent as runners, but if you see one, you should focus your attention on them. They are small which means they make a hard target to kill. All it takes is one swing of the melee weapon to take them out.
- You can only carry a certain amount of items in your inventory and that depends on the size of the items. Bigger items mean that they'll take up more space so choose your items wisely.
- An ideal set up to have is to have a heavy melee weapon, a pistol, a flashlight, and pills.
- Heavy weapons can take out zombies in one hit but they use more stamina than medium/light weapons.
- While using a gun, standing still for 3 seconds while aiming down sights makes you go into focus mode where you deal extra damage (so aim for the head).
- If you are infected and you have pills, you can wait to use them until you are about to turn to keep on living for a little while longer. You can keep using pills to prevent your infection as their is no limit to how many you can have (but remember, you can't stack pills so use them accordingly).
- A common tactic to use when fighting zombies is to charge your weapon and press the shove key immediately after you swing. This prevents the zombie from attacking you if they happen to live after you hit them.

No More Room in Hell is a cooperativefirst personsurvival horrorvideo game, created by Matt 'Maxx' Kazan and initially developed as a modification on Valve Corporation's Sourcegame engine. Set in a zombieapocalypse, the player assumes the role of one of eight remaining survivors,[1] with a focus on co-operation and survival. The game can be played through 'Objective' or 'Survival' mode. It is heavily inspired by George Romero's Living Dead series,[2] with the title being a reference to Dawn of the Dead, specifically the line 'When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth.',[3] and some characters being references to other films such as American Psycho and The Big Lebowski.
The game was first released on October 31, 2011 as a Half-Life 2 mod. Chess opening theory pdf. It was later officially re-released as a standalone title on October 31, 2013 via Steam Greenlight after having been in development since 2004.[4] It was met with positive reviews.
Gameplay[edit]
There are two game modes in the game: Objective mode and Survival mode. In Objective mode, players must follow the instructions given by the game, each Objective mode map has different goals but the ultimate goal is usually to escape the map alive. To increase replayability certain maps can have different objectives, items and routes which can change with every new playthrough. In Survival mode, players must protect certain sectors of a level against waves of incoming zombies. Each new wave brings in more zombies and sometimes new supplies will be dropped from a military helicopter, after a set number of waves a rescue vehicle will arrive to bring the survivors to safety. The health percentages of all the sectors will decrease if players let them become overrun by zombies and if they all reach zero, the rescue vehicle will refuse to arrive and the players lose the match.
The in-game HUD is minimal. There are no crosshairs. Health is indicated by how bright or how dark the screen is. An ammunition counter is only shown when reloading, or if the player holds down the reload key to check their ammunition. The player can change the method of counting ammunition from showing the ammo counter, having their character's voice call out often a vague estimate, or both combined. The player can also add an extra round in the chamber of their firearm even when the magazine is full.
Up to eight players can play together cooperatively in a single server. If a player dies in the middle of an Objective map, easier types of difficulties will allow the player to respawn once the surviving players reach a predefined checkpoint on the map. If a player dies in the middle of a Survival map, they will respawn at the start of the next wave or instantly if they have gained enough points beforehand which is subjected to the game server's difficulty level.
Players are able to use a variety of items and weapons to help them in their goals. Up to 18 firearms are available, each requiring a variety of ammunition types that are scattered around the game. Certain weapons can be more effective than others in dispatching zombies, however these guns can be rare, and its ammunition even rarer. Because of this, numerous melee weapons are available. These can range from blunt weapons like bats and sledgehammers, to edged weapons like fire axes and knives. There are also a few unique melee weapons like chainsaws. Players can also have access to explosives such as grenades and TNT which are helpful in dispatching large hordes of zombies.
Reception[edit]
No More Room in Hell was named 'Mod of the Year' for 2011 by PC Gamer magazine, and was featured in two issues in 2012.[2]The mod was in the top 100 of Mod DB's 2011 Mod of the Year list and was named Multiplayer Mod of the Year 2011.[5]It was featured in Maximum PC in a two-page article about the mod, alongside two-page articles for both DayZ and The War Z in a special about the best of zombie games. NMRiH won the 2012 Mod of the Year from GameFront in a reader poll on Facebook. It was again nominated in 2012 by users of ModDB for Mod of the Year, making it in to the top 100 and subsequently placing third for Player's Choice Mod of the Year. Since it failed to place higher than the previous year, attaining the same ranking as 2011, it did not make it into the official Top Ten list and was supplanted by Cry of Fear. In 2013, it placed second for the ModDB Mod of the Year award. [6]
